Welcome to iRent Car Rental! Below, you’ll find our Terms and Conditions, which outline the rules and responsibilities for renting a vehicle with us. Please read this carefully before making a reservation or picking up your rental car.

Definitions

  • Agreement: Refers to these Terms and Conditions and the rental agreement you sign at pickup.
  • You/Your: The person renting the vehicle, any additional drivers, and anyone responsible for payment.
  • We/Us/Our: iRent Car Rental and its authorized franchisees.
  • Authorized Driver: The renter, additional drivers listed in the agreement, the renter’s spouse, or someone operating the vehicle in an emergency or while parking. All drivers must be at least 21 years old.
  • Vehicle: The car or truck you rent, including its tires, tools, accessories, and documents. The vehicle may have GPS or telematics systems.
  • Loss of Use: Compensation for the time the vehicle cannot be rented due to damage or loss.
  • Diminished Value: The reduction in the vehicle’s value after repairs.
  • CDW (Collision Damage Waiver): Optional coverage that reduces your financial responsibility for damage.
  • Charges: Fees incurred during your rental, including rental rates, taxes, and additional services.

General Rules

  • Present your reservation confirmation and valid ID at pickup. Without these, we may refuse to release the vehicle, and no refunds will be issued.
  • Notify us at least 48 hours in advance for changes to your reservation. Late notifications may result in vehicle unavailability.
  • No Smoking: Smoking in the vehicle incurs a $250 cleaning fee plus tax.
  • Security Deposit: A hold of $250–$1,000 USD (or $1,000 USD for Florida residents) will be placed on your credit card and released 10–15 business days after the rental ends.
  • Vehicle models are not guaranteed. You’ll receive a vehicle from the reserved class.
  • Rates are based on a 24-hour rental period. Additional charges apply for late returns.

Renter Qualifications

  • Minimum Age: 21 years.
  • Additional Drivers: Up to 2 drivers can be added for $9.99 USD per day plus tax.
  • Young Driver Fee: $19.99 USD per day for drivers under 25.
  • Senior Driver Fee: $9.99 USD per day for drivers aged 70+.
  • Driver’s License: Must be valid, issued at least 2 years prior, and in the Latin alphabet. Non-Latin licenses require an international driver’s permit.

Vehicle Condition and Return

  • Inspect the vehicle at pickup and report any issues immediately.
  • Return the vehicle in the same condition to avoid cleaning fees starting at $35 USD plus tax.
  • Excessive dirt, damage, or odors may result in additional charges.

Rental Duration

  • Minimum Rental: 1 day.
  • Maximum Rental: 30 days. Longer rentals require vehicle return for maintenance.

What’s Included

  • Free cancellation or modifications up to 48 hours before pickup.
  • Unlimited mileage within Florida (for non-residents). Florida residents get 50 free miles per day, with excess miles charged at $0.75 USD plus tax.
  • Complimentary shuttle service to and from airport rental centers.

What’s Not Included

  • Insurance (SLI, CDW, PAI/PEC).
  • Tolls, traffic tickets, parking fines, and administrative fees.
  • One-way rentals, GPS, child seats, and delivery fees.

Prohibited Uses

  • Driving outside Florida incurs a $1,000 cross-border fee plus mileage charges.
  • Commercial use (e.g., ride-sharing, food delivery) is strictly prohibited.

Early Return, Late Return, and No-Show Policies

  • Early Return: No refunds for early returns.
  • No-Show: Failure to pick up within 1 hour of the scheduled time may result in cancellation. A reinstatement fee of up to $65 USD plus tax applies.
  • Late Return: A 1-hour grace period is allowed. After that, a late fee of up to $65 USD or an additional day’s rental charge applies.

Lost Keys or Fobs

  • Lost or damaged keys/fobs incur a $450 USD fee plus tax, plus delivery or towing costs.

Fuel Policy

  • Return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at pickup. A refueling charge of $7.99 USD per gallon applies for less fuel.

Tolls and Transponders

  • Our vehicles come with a non-removable transponder. Removing it incurs a $250 USD fee plus tax.
  • Choose between:
    • Toll pass service activiation : $10.99 USD per day plus tax.
    • Unlimited Toll Option: $24.99 USD per day plus tax.
    • Decline Toll Service: $24.99 USD admin fee per toll plus toll fees.

Insurance Options

  • Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): $24.99 USD per day.
  • Third party Liability : $14.99 USD per day.
  • Personal Accident Insurance (PAI): $6.99 USD per day.
  • Use of Personal or Credit Card Insurance
  • Customers are permitted to use their own personal car insurance from the United States or Canada, provided they present a declaration page showing minimum coverage of $300k /$100 /$50.A $9.99 claim subrogation fee per day will be applied to cover the services of our third-party claim management company. For customers opting to use credit card insurance, a declaration page from the credit card company must be provided. This document must clearly state the coverage limits and the number of days the rental is covered. Additionally, customers will be required to sign an Assignment of Benefits form for our claim management partner, Hawkeye Claims.All documents must be in ENGLISH

After-Hours Returns

  • After-hours returns are available for $150 USD plus tax. Contact us for details.

Terms & Conditions for iRent Car Rental

By signing the digital contract sent via an online link (referred to as the “Rental Contract Summary”), the Renter agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions outlined in this Rental Agreement Package and the Rental Contract Summary (collectively referred to as the “Agreement”). The Renter assumes full responsibility for the vehicle during the Rental Period, regardless of whether additional contracts are executed.

Definitions

  • Additional Authorized Driver(s) (AAD(s)): Any individual other than the Renter permitted to operate the vehicle, including the Renter’s spouse, domestic partner, employer, or co-worker, provided they meet age and licensing requirements.
  • Optional Accessories: Items such as child seats, GPS devices, ski racks, toll transponders, or other products rented with the vehicle.
  • Owner: The entity listed as the “VEHICLE OWNER” on the Rental Contract Summary.
  • Rental Period: The time between taking possession of the vehicle and its return or recovery, as verified by the Owner.
  • Renter: The person or entity listed as “RENTER” on the Rental Contract Summary.
  • Vehicle: The original vehicle or any replacement vehicle(s).

Ownership/Condition of the Vehicle/Exclusion of Warranty

The Renter acknowledges that the vehicle and any optional accessories are the property of the Owner. The Renter is not an agent of the Owner and has no authority to bind the Owner. The vehicle and accessories are provided “as is,” and the Renter has had the opportunity to inspect them. The Owner disclaims all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

The Renter agrees not to alter or tamper with the vehicle or accessories. If the vehicle or accessories are deemed unsafe, the Renter must cease operation immediately and notify the Owner.

Payment by the Renter

The Renter agrees to pay the Owner for:

  1. Rental rates based on hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly usage as outlined in the Rental Contract Summary.
  2. Mileage charges for miles exceeding any free mileage allowance.
  3. Additional accessories, services, or products accepted by the Renter.
  4. Toll fees, fuel charges, one-way fees, and age-related surcharges.
  5. Other fees, including customer facility charges, concession recovery fees, and vehicle license recovery fees.

Limits on Use and Termination of Right to Use

The Renter agrees to the following restrictions:

  • Only the Renter or AAD(s) may operate the vehicle.
  • The vehicle cannot be used for commercial hire, driver training, or illegal purposes.
  • The vehicle must not be driven off-road, outside the U.S., or by anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • The Renter must not transfer or sublease the vehicle.
  • The vehicle must not be used to transport hazardous materials or exceed its weight capacity.

If the Renter violates these terms, the Owner may terminate the rental and seize the vehicle without notice. The Renter remains responsible for all charges and obligations.

Roadside Assistance

For roadside assistance, the Renter must contact a third-party provider. Charges for services are the Renter’s responsibility.

Accidents

The Renter must report any damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle immediately and provide all relevant documentation. The Renter must cooperate fully with the Owner in any claims or legal proceedings.

Damage to, Loss, or Theft of Vehicle

The Renter is responsible for:

  1. All collision damage, even if caused by someone else.
  2. Theft of the vehicle or damages resulting from theft if the Renter fails to exercise ordinary care.
  3. Vandalism damages up to $2,000.
  4. Administrative charges, towing, storage, and impound fees.

Responsibility to Third Parties

The Owner complies with applicable motor vehicle financial responsibility laws but does not assume liability for the Renter or third-party claims. The Renter must provide their own insurance coverage.

Indemnification by Renter

The Renter agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the Owner harmless from all losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from the rental or use of the vehicle.

Personal Injury Protection and Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Protection

The Owner does not provide Personal Injury Protection (PIP) or Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Protection (UM/UIM) unless required by law.

Personal Property

The Owner is not responsible for damage to, loss, or theft of personal property left in the vehicle.

Third Party Proceeds

If a third party authorizes payment for amounts owed by the Renter, the Renter assigns the right to receive such payment to the Owner.

Power of Attorney

The Renter grants the Owner a Limited Power of Attorney to present insurance claims and endorse the Renter’s name for payments related to damages or liabilities.

Severability

If any provision of this Agreement is deemed invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

Limitation of Remedy/No Consequential Damages

The Owner’s sole liability for breaches or vehicle failures is limited to substituting another similar vehicle.

Notice About Renter’s Financial Responsibility and Optional Collision Damage Waiver

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is optional and not insurance. If the Renter declines CDW, they must provide their own insurance. The Renter is responsible for all collision damage, theft, and vandalism up to $3,000.

Optional Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP)

SLP provides third-party liability protection up to $1,000,000 per accident. SLP is optional and not required to rent a vehicle.

Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP)

RAP covers services such as flat tire replacement, lockout service, jumpstarts, and fuel delivery. RAP is optional and not insurance.

Telematics Notice and Release

The vehicle may be equipped with a telematics system. The Renter authorizes the use of data from the system and releases the Owner from liability for any damages caused by its failure.

Choice of Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state where it is executed.

Mandatory Arbitration Agreement

The Renter and Owner agree to arbitrate all claims and waive the right to a jury trial or class action.

General Terms

  • Vehicles cannot be driven outside Florida without incurring additional fees.
  • Florida residents have mileage restrictions.
  • A Police Report is required for accidents or damage to validate CDW.
  • The Renter is responsible for parking/traffic citations, service calls, and unauthorized drivers.
  • The Owner is not responsible for items left in the vehicle.
  • By renting, the Renter authorizes the Owner to charge their credit/debit card for any applicable fees.

Customer Privacy

The Renter’s information is stored and used in accordance with the Owner’s privacy policy, available at www.irentcarrental.com.
